Tornado Warning System Scheduled to be Tested April 25th, 2024

Warnex is scheduled for Thursday, April 25th, 2024, and will originate from the National Weather Service sometime around 11:15 a.m. However, to encourage more participation from schools, hospitals and facilities, Walsh County Emergency Management will be doing their exercise at 2:00pm.

The warning message will be a simulated tornado warning. The Grafton Area Warning Point (Walsh County Communication Center) will initiate our County Alert & Warning Annex and disseminate the information through their notification procedures. This is only an exercise and local media will be notified of the exercise. If anyone is going to do a full-scale exercise of their tornado warning procedures, (example evacuate their facility), you may want to notify the media for some public relations. If you have concerns or if a portion of the exercise doesn’t develop as you had anticipated, please contact Walsh County Emergency Management to address any of your concerns.
