Grafton's fire department is a 20-man volunteer department. Established in 1882, the objectives of this department are to provide adequate fire suppression, protection of life, and property to the community served.

Fire Siren Tones
There are only two types of warnings the sirens in Grafton are programmed to alert, Fire and Weather. Fire is an up and down tone, and weather is a constant tone. Weather sirens are meant to be an indicator of imminent dangerous weather, and to indicate the immediate need to take cover.

Annual Fundraiser
Grafton Volunteer Fire Department hosts a large fundraiser annually in order to purchase and upgrade equipment. The fundraiser is a 21+ event held in April at the Centennial Center. Tickets traditionally include a steak or chicken meal, open bar, drawings for cash giveaway, and a silent auction.
