Nick Ziegelmann has served as the City Administrator in Grafton since 2012. Nick received his Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of North Dakota and his Master’s in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi. Prior to his current position in Grafton, Nick was the Community Development Specialist in Becker, Minnesota, for seven years. He and his wife Kristin spend most of their time away from work chasing their three children: Paityn, Easton, and Braden. Nick represents cities with a population of over 2,500 in the Northeast region.

Grafton has a City Administrator reporting directly to the Mayor and City Council.  Duties and responsibilities include:  the coordination and oversight of all City departments' functions; representing the City at local, state, regional and national meetings; acting as a liaison for the City between local, state and federal governmental entities; providing assistance in the development of personnel policies, health and safety standards, wages and disciplinary procedures. The top administrative position leads all department heads in developing operating policies for city functions and personnel.
