Grow Grafton Housing Incentive Gives You $20,000 to Build a Home!

The Grow Grafton Housing Incentive offers residents a $20,000 grant if you buy or build a newly constructed single-family home, townhouse or condo on any lot within City limits. A $10,000 grant is offered if you relocated an existing single-family home into Grafton on any lot within City limits. Other incentive benefits are as follows:

2-year tax exemption on the building up to $150,000 (see below)
Trees for your berm
Water/sewer hookup fees waived

New Single-Family Residence Exemption
A $150,000 exemption (on the structure) is available for two years. The exemption starts after construction is fully completed as long as there are no delinquent taxes on the property.

In addition, a builder can obtain an exemption for up to three years, starting when construction begins, as long as the property is owned by the builder, remains unoccupied and has no delinquent taxes. There is no limit to the exempt number of structures, but the land is taxable. A builder is limited to 10 exempt properties at one time.
