New Single-Family Residence Exemption
A $150,000 exemption (on the structure) is available for two years. The exemption starts after construction is fully completed as long as there are no delinquent taxes on the property.
In addition, a builder can obtain an exemption for up to three years, starting when construction begins, as long as the property is owned by the builder, remains unoccupied and has no delinquent taxes. There is no limit to the exempt number of structures, but the land is taxable. A builder is limited to 10 exempt properties at one time.
